About

The Full Story

I created the Happy Mind Coach because I know what it feels like to struggle in silence. From a young age, I grew up with responsibility early.

I learned quickly that women were expected to cope, to carry on and to put their own needs last. Those early experiences shaped how I navigated life - often quietly trying to be "strong" and often feeling unheard.

In adulthood, following complicated pregnancies and health challenges surrounding gynaecological, emotional and mental health issues, I experienced periods of anxiety, panic attacks, antenatal and postnatal depression and deep overwhelm. During this time, I came to understand how isolating it can feel when support isn't accessible in the way you need it to be, especially for women juggling careers, caring responsibilities, and expectations amidst their own struggles.

Instead of accepting that this was just the way it was for a woman, to stop wasting time and to pull myself together - my Doctors comment to me two weeks after a life saving C-section , I chose to pause and understand what my mind and body was trying to tell me. I didn't want to keep putting a sticking plaster on my feelings, I wanted to understand why I was feeling all these emotions and do something to better understand me.

That decision changed everything.

I began a holistic wellbeing journey, accessing therapies to help me heal. This healing led me to train in therapies including Mindfulness, emotional wellbeing approaches and complimentary practices. At 43 I embarked on a university pathway incorporating psychology, then onto gaining a First-Class honours degree in Community Development from Glasgow University and a Masters in Adult Education, driven by a desire to better support communities from the inside out.

Alongside my professional work, I volunteer locally and facilitate outdoor wellbeing sessions in nature - creating gentle supportive spaces where people can slow down, breathe and reconnect with themselves.

Today, the Happy Mind Coach exists to support Women who feel overwhelmed, unheard or disconnected - not to "fix" them, but to remind them of their strength, their worth, their and their amazing capacity to simply appreciate themselves for who they are, with graceful acceptance.

I believe deeply that people are not hard to reach - they are often easy to ignore. My work is about changing that.

I rebelled in plain sight, I became awake
